Friends of Riverbend Park


Friends of Riverbend Park (FORB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit citizens group dedicated to the responsible stewardship and preservation of the undisturbed natural beauty at Riverbend Park on the Potomac River, and to safeguarding this Park as a natural 'classroom' for the inspiration, enjoyment, and education of all park visitors.

Directions

 The park may be reached by taking Beltway Exit 44 (Georgetown Pike Rt. 193) west 4.5 miles to right on Riverbend Rd. to Right on Jeffery Rd. Proceed approximately 1 mile to the park's main entrance (Potomac Hills St.) on the right, or 1.5 miles on Jeffery Rd to the Nature Center entrance and parking area.


Friends of Riverbend Park's 2024 Native Plant Sale

FORB's annual Native Plant Sale will be held online beginning on February 1, 2024 and ending on March 24, 2024. All online native plant orders must be picked up on Saturday April 13th from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Riverbend Park Educational Pavilion on Potomac Hills Street in Great Falls, VA. For a complete list of the plants to be offered and  to order plants online for pick up on that day , click on the "2024 Native Plant Sale" tab on the top of our Home Page above. We will have over 500 plants from 50+ different varieties of native flowers and ferns including cardinal flowers, iris,  asters, three varieties of phlox,  several types of ferns, and many more. Bluebells in 2024 will be sold both on the deck of the Visitor Center during Riverbend Park's Annual Bluebell Festival on Saturday, April 6th from 10 AM to 4 PM, or may be ordered online on our website through March 24th. Sales at the Annual Bluebell Festival on April 6th may be made by cash, check or credit card on a first come - first serve basis while supplies last. Online sales must be paid for by credit card and must be picked up on April 13th.

Come revitalize your garden with native flowers and ferns and at the same time support Riverbend Park and the Friends of Riverbend Park.  



Riverbend Park's Annual Bluebell Festival will be held this year on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10 am to 4 pm. FORB will be selling bluebells by cash, check or credit card on the deck of the Visitor Center starting at 10 am on a first come - first serve basis as long as supplies last.

FORB's online Annual Plant Sale opens on Thursday, February 1st and closes on Sunday, March 24th. Online orders will be picked up on Saturday, April 13th at the Educational Pavilion on Potomac Hills Street.

Friends of Riverbend Park Board meetings are usually held at 7:30 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Riverbend Park Maintenance Facility. Come on by. Members and prospective members are welcome.
